Red Alert - The War Within will premiere at the 2009 IFFI 40th Annual International Film Festival Of India (Nov 23 - Dec 3, 2009). The theatrical release date is Dec 4, 2009.
Anant Mahadevan is arguably one of the most intelligent and telented personalities in Indian cinema today. We all are well aware of his fantastic character acting abilities. His sharp directorial skills will surely be demonstrated by his sensitive handling of one of the most difficult and social phenomena of modern India - that of the Naxalite movement and the social, economic and political angles of perhaps the most violent of all movements in post-independence India.
Red Alert - The War Within ("We both fired. He missed. I didn't.") is an eagerly awaited Hindi film.

The trailer of the movie refers to a quote by Malcom X: "There is no revolution without violence. Those who don't accept violence can cross out the word revolution from their dictionary." (Surpringly, the trailer glaringly omits the apostrophe in "don't" - an unexpected slip in a Anant Mahadevan movie!)
Red Alert is the story of one man's journey through three phases: the struggle phase, caught in a group of people whose dream is to have a Red sunrise; the guerilla phase, where you end up killing your own people; the liberated phase ... is violence the only way ?
Red Alert is based on a true story, Red Alert is a film about India's little understood - misunderstood - war.
The star cast has Sameera Reddy, Ayesha Dharker, Gulshan Grover, Seema Biswas, Bhagyashree, Aashish Vidyarthi, Murli Sharma, Ehsaan Khan, Naseeruddin Shah, Vinod Khanna, Makrand Deshpande, Sunil Sinha and others.

Suniel Shetty has been awarded the Best Actor prize at the South Asian International Film Festival (SAIFF) in New York for Red Alert - The War Within.
Considering acting powerhouses like Naseeruddin Shah, Vinod Khanna and Ashish Vidyarthi are in the movie, Sunil Shetty must have acted brilliantly.
Red Alert will premiere at the 40th Annual International Film Festival of India at Goa, 29th Nov to 3rd Dec, 2009.
